Dako to purchase IP rights to System Dynamics software
Dako has agreed a deal with System Dynamics to purchase the intellectual property (IP) rights to its Laboratory Information System (LIS) connectivity software.
The new agreement is expected to bring new software development competencies to one of the world's leaders in cancer diagnostics, with System Dynamics' development team also joining Dako as part of the deal.
System Dynamics is a longtime business partner and supplier to Dako, with the two companies having worked together for more than a decade to design and develop the DakoLink software for use in Dako's Autostainer and Artisan instruments.
Jacob Thaysen, corporate vice-president of Dako's research and development division, said: "The acquisition of the intellectual property rights behind LIS connectivity software is an important milestone for Dako in our efforts to further strengthen our position and capabilities in LIS connectivity."
The news comes at the end of a momentous year for Dako, having been acquired by and incorporated into Agilent Technologies through a major $2.2 billion (1.36 billion pounds) merger agreement.
