Day Lewis opens “flagship pharmacy”

4th March 2008

The Day Lewis company is set to launch a new “flagship pharmacy” that is expected to enhance the pharmaceutical resources available to inhabitants of the Cornish town of Penzance.

Day Lewis operates as a retail and wholesale pharmaceutical supplier around the UK and the company has said that its newest Peasgood Pharmacy outlet will bring 21st century services to the local community.

The new pharmacy is set to open its doors on March 10th and the site will be the second operated on behalf of Day Lewis, which already owns a pharmacy in the town that has been open as such since the 18th century.

Day Lewis chief executive Kirit Patel said: “The original and ‘traditional’ Peasgoods pharmacy has built up strong customer loyalty through its commitment to patient care and service.”

“Our new ’21st century’ Peasgoods branch will build on this,” he added.

In September of last year, Day Lewis’s joint venture with the Co-operative Pharmacy, which operates as Opus Pharmaceuticals, signed what it called a “major supply agreement” with the Neolab company.
