DDB UK appoints scientist in residence

13th October 2010

DDB UK has announced the appointment of Goldsmiths, University of London lecturer Dr Daniel Mullensiefen as its scientist in residence.

Dr Mullensiefen took up his position at the advertising agency last month and will be offering expert advice on a number of subjects and initiatives, including providing analysis of its client campaigns.

The firm states that it is the first company in the marketing sector to appoint a scientist in residence, with the psychology expert also set to provide educational programmes for DDB's staff and clients.

Sarah Watson, head of planning at DDB UK, said the scheme is illustrative of the "real depth and authority" it offers as an agency.

She explained: "We are all increasingly realising that disciplines such as behavioural economics have huge practical benefits for us and we want to build an understanding of cognitive processes into all aspects of our planning."

In June 2010, DDB was named as the second most awarded network at the International Advertising Festival in Cannes, winning a total of 52 Lions.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800114058-ADNFCR
