Dechra launches new antiemetic injection therapy Prevomax
Dechra has announced the launch of Prevomax, a newly formulated antiemetic injection therapy to treat and prevent vomiting and nausea in dogs and cats.
The treatment incorporates benzyl alcohol, a preservative that is known to reduce pain at the injection site, and can be administered more comfortably than maropitant injection therapies, which are preserved by metacresol.
Dechra brand manager Claire Morgan said: "Prevomax is particularly useful for the treatment and prevention of nausea induced by chemotherapy and for treatment of vomiting, in combination with other supportive measures."
Prevomax is sold in 20 ml bottles with a 56-day broached shelf life, making it ideal for use in busy practices across multiple patients while reducing wastage.
To help promote the launch of the therapy, Dechra is inviting veterinary professionals to share their experience of using Prevomax between now and the end of February 2018, in exchange for a chance to win an Amazon gift card.
