Dechra to highlight antimicrobial resistance at BVA Congress
Dechra Veterinary Products will be shining a spotlight on the topic of antimicrobial resistance when it attends the British Veterinary Association (BVA) Congress in Liverpool this week.
The issue will be a key theme of the congress, which runs from September 27th to 29th, and Dechra will use the opportunity to promote its dermatology campaign It's Time to Change, which centres on the diagnosis and treatment of otitis externa.
It aims to help vets to diagnose the organisms associated with the infection and choose the correct approach to control, while also educating owners to apply and use topical antibiotic treatments correctly.
Responsible use of antibiotics is essential in both the human and animal health sectors, due to the growing danger posed by drug-resistant bacteria.
Dechra Veterinary Products' UK and Ireland country manager Bob Parmenter said: "We're looking forward to welcoming visitors to our stand at BVA Congress, where we will have a range of support materials for veterinary professionals available."
Last week, the company received thanks from British vet Emma Robinson for making a donation of products to support her work with an animal rescue charity in the Caribbean.
