Dentsply Sirona announces overhaul of leadership team

10th October 2017

Dentsply Sirona has made a series of significant changes to its leadership team, with many of its key executive leaders stepping down.

Jeffrey Slovin has left the role of chief executive officer, with Christopher Clark stepping down as president and chief operating officer, and Bret Wise vacating the role of president. A search for a permanent new chief executive and chief operating officer has now begun.

In the interim, Mark Thierer has agreed to serve as chief executive on a temporary basis. Boasting more than 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry, he most recently served as chief of OptumRx and also previously led Catamaran and SXC Health Solutions.

Meanwhile, Bob Size has been named interim president and chief operating officer, having served with the company since 2003 and occupying a senior vice-president role from 2007 to 2017.

Eric Brandt, who has also been named non-executive chairman of the company's board as part of the reshuffle, said: "Dentsply Sirona's board of directors strongly believes that the company is well-positioned to achieve its business objectives, and that new leadership is critical to achieving success."
