Dentsply Sirona hails achievements on one-year anniversary of merger

Dentsply Sirona has highlighted the considerable progress it has made during the first 12 months since the merger that created the company in its current incarnation.

The combination of Dentsply and Sirona was completed at the end of February 2016, bringing together two companies with more than 100 years of experience each. The new-look firm employs 15,000 team members and is now the world's largest manufacturer of dental solutions.

More than $125 million (101.78 million pounds) is being spent by Dentsply Sirona on research and development each year, with at least 50 studies ongoing to test the solutions it has created. The firm aims to launch 30 new innovations each year.

At the recent Chicago Midwinter Meeting 2017, the company showcased a number of its latest offerings, including the integration of the Cavitron ultrasonic scaler with the Intego line of treatment centres and the functionality of the Orthophos SL system with 3D I-X Imaging.

Michael Augins, senior vice-president for Dentsply Sirona's US commercial organisation, said: "Our combination has given us new perspectives and has created myriad opportunities for both the company and our customers."
