Dentsply Sirona launches new Aquasil Ultra Plus impression material

20th October 2017

Dentsply Sirona has announced the launch of its new Aquasil Ultra Plus Smart Wetting Impression Material.

The vinyl polysiloxane impression (VPS) material is intended for use with all dental impression techniques, combining wettability, tear strength, speed and a wide range of delivery options.

Its market-leading intraoral hydrophilicity helps to avoid trapping fluid from the moment the material is syringed, helping clinicians alleviate voids and bubbles at or near the margin. Meanwhile, its intraoral tear strength reduces risks of tears while the material is in thin cross-sections and when being removed from the patient's mouth.

Typically, impression material performance is measured outside the clinical context in which a dentist works, but Dentsply Sirona has made use of the latest technology to test and publish clinically relevant intraoral performance.

The company said: "Aquasil Ultra Plus impression material merges state-of-the-art intraoral hydrophilicity and intraoral tear strength to deliver better-than-ever results, optimising performance in all areas, not just one."
