Dentsply Sirona marks one million Sirona Connect Portal restorations in 2016

Dentsply Sirona has announced that its Sirona Connect Portal achieved a new annual usage record in 2016.

For the first time ever, more than one million dental restorations were ordered via the Sirona Connect Portal last year, meaning the number of orders submitted via this channel has more than doubled compared to 2015.

The availability of inLab-Software – which enables laboratories to receive digital impressions and associated work orders directly from the dentist's office – helped to drive this growth, with crowns making up the largest percentage of the restorations, followed by bridges and inlays.

Further growth is anticipated in 2017, underlining not only the popularity of the product but also the accelerating move towards digitisation within the dental sector.

Dr Roland Gorlitz, global manager for labside and digital impression products at Dentsply Sirona, said: "This upward trend is a real opportunity for laboratories and practices, and ultimately it is the patients who stand to benefit most."
