Dentsply Sirona names new head of CAD/CAM business

Dentsply Sirona has continued the recent restructuring of its leadership team with the appointment of Dr Alexander Volcker as vice-president of its CAD/CAM business.

Dr Volcker took over this position from Dr Frank Thiel on February 1st, with Dr Thiel set to continue to lead research and development of the business unit following this appointment.

The new business leader has been with the company since 1990, working in research, marketing and new business development functions within Dentsply Sirona's prosthetics business unit.

He later moved to VDW in Munich, firstly as vice-president of research and development, and later as vice-president and general manager, with subsequent roles for the DeguDent business.

Dominique Legros, senior vice-president of Dentsply Sirona's technologies and equipment division, said: "Dr Alexander Volcker brings broad strategic and business expertise along with deep knowledge and understanding of the dental market to his new position. I look forward to continuing the positive development of recent years with him."
