Dentsply to launch unified Dentsply Implants division

Dentsply has announced the launch of Dentsply Implants, a new international organisation that unifies its dental implant-related businesses.

The new division will brings together the operations of Dentsply Friadent and the recently acquired Astra Tech Dental, with products to be marketed and sold under the new brand name in North America from this month onwards.

Dentsply Implants' product portfolio will include implants, bone regenerative products, digital technologies and professional development tools, featuring brands such as Ankylos, Xive and Atlantis.

Built upon a dedication to scientific research, clinical evidence and customer service, the new business will be introduced in the US first and other parts of the world later on.

Jim Mosch, executive vice-president for Dentsply International and group president for Dentsply Implants, said: "The solid history of both Astra Tech Dental and Dentsply Friadent … creates a new, unique global foundation to exceed the expectations of today's knowledgeable, demanding dental professionals."

In February 2012, the company reported its financial results for 2011, during which it experienced growth of 14.3 percent and a record sales performance.
