Diabetes UK appoints new media manager

30th December 2014

Diabetes UK has announced the appointment of Cairin Conway as its new media manager, reporting to the charity's head of media Richard Evans.

Ms Conway joins the organisation having previously served as media and comms manager at the Cancer Council Victoria in Melbourne, Australia. During her time there, she helped to develop, implement and evaluate strategic media and comms plans for a number of cancer prevention programmes, reports Gorkana.

In her new role with Diabetes UK, she will help the organisation – which is the UK's leading diabetes charity – to promote and manage its profile, while raising awareness of the disease and its impact.

Specifically, she will be tasked with coordinating and supporting the work of seven regional media officers, while also assisting with national communications campaigns.

Diabetes UK's network includes 6,500 volunteers and 340 voluntary groups, while its total number of supporters exceeds 300,000. In addition to educating the public about diabetes, it is dedicated to lobbying the government and healthcare sector to take actions that will result in higher standards of care for patients.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801767935-ADNFCR
