Dionex to purchase ESA Biosciences assets

18th September 2009

Dionex has revealed details of an asset purchase agreement with ESA Biosciences to acquire HPLC-related products, clinical assays and laboratory services.

The deal will enable Dionex to add three category-leading HPLC detector families to its portfolio, thereby increasing its resources in the fields of neuroscience, clinical diagnostic, biomedical research and industrial laboratories.

Dionex will acquire the Corona family of universal charged aerosol detectors from ESA Biosciences, as well as bringing in the CoulArray and Coulochem detectors.

"We are very excited about the addition of the Life Sciences Tools Business Unit of ESA Biosciences, its product lines and services to our business," said Dr Frank Witney, president and chief executive officer of Dionex.

He added: "We see excellent synergy with Dionex from a technology perspective, as well as both of our long histories of creating novel applications solutions."

ESA was founded in 1968 under the name Environmental Sciences Associates and manufactures a range of HPLC detectors, instruments, reagents, consumables and total solutions.
