DJ Orthopaedics highlights benefits of its Compex muscle stimulator
DJ Orthopaedics has pointed to the benefits of using electric muscle stimulation – such as that offered by its Compex product – for athletes and those who like to play sports.
The firm’s recently launched Compex Performance unit was designed to assist the training and exercise regimes of athletes frequently engaging in competitions.
It features five programmes – endurance, resistance, strength, active recovery and pre-warm up – which focus on specific groups of muscles and enable maximum strength and development.
Greg Houlgate, director of sales and marketing for the brand, explained that trials conducted over the last 22 years indicate that using Compex instruments brings about deeper contractions than performing standard training activities.
“The result is a more efficient workout regimen with less risk of injury to joints and tendons, with virtually no cardiovascular or mental fatigue,” he added.
DJ Orthopaedics’ international division is headquartered in Guildford, Surrey and was the winner of the 2006 British Healthcare Trades Association award for Excellence in the Orthotics category.
