DoH reveals successful Lift bidders

13th March 2009

The Department of Health (DoH) has revealed the seven successful bidders for the Local Improvement Finance Trust (Lift) framework.

Among the partners are Prime PLC, Eric Wright Group, Odyssey Healthcare, Fulcrum Infrastructure Group and Equity Solutions.

They will now implement the system designed to enable local authorities and primary care trusts to develop new capital schemes faster than traditional procurement methods.

The scheme also aims to provide a framework for long-term collaboration between public and private sector developers.

Health minister Ben Bradshaw explained the successful companies will help drive the scheme forward and enable more institutions to take advantage of its benefits.

The programme will allow “faster builds, improved working conditions for staff, better care environments for patients and better overall facilities available for the local community”, he concluded.

Earlier this week, the DoH released its diagnostics commentary for January 2009.

It revealed that the number of patients waiting more than six weeks for one of the 15 key screenings fell by 91.6 per cent from the previous year.
