Dr Reddy’s announces year-end results

Dr Reddy’s has announced its audited financial results for the year ended March 31st.

Revenue for the 12-month period stood at 50 billion rupees (£600.09 million) in comparison to 65 billion rupees for the 2007 financial year.

A total of 89 generic products were launched and 397 filings across all markets were made during the 52 weeks.

Revenues from the organic segment of custom pharmaceutical services businesses increased by 53 per cent to 1.9 billion rupees from 1.2 billion in the previous 12-month period.

In Europe, revenues stood at 9.7 billion rupees in comparison to 9.6 billion rupees at the end of the 2007 financial year.

Revenue from the UK market remained unchanged at a total of 1.4 billion.

During the course of the year, the firm filed 16 dossiers across Europe.

In related news, Dr Reddy’s announced that it had acquired the Dow Chemical Company’s Dowpharma Small Molecules Business and BASF’s Pharmaceutical Contract Manufacturing Business earlier this month.
