Dr Reddy’s launches gastritis treatment

29th May 2008

Dr Reddy’s announced the launch of Omez Insta in recent days.

The firm asserts that the product is a powder formulation – which comes in a “pleasant mint flavour” – that offers relief to patients suffering from acute gastritis.

It also states that the treatment is “ideal” for critically-ill patients on Ryle’s tube feeding.

Omez Insta works by reducing the acid concentration in the stomach by as much as 78 per cent within the first half an hour of ingestion.

The medication is an advanced form of Omeprazole, referred to internationally as Immediate Release Omeprazole (IR-Ome).

“IR-Ome is the first and only immediate release oral Proton Pump Inhibitor (PPI) available as powder for oral suspension with significantly improved pharmacokinetic profile,” Dr Reddy’s explains.

Meanwhile, the company recently announced its audited financial results for the year ended March 31st, noting that its revenue stood at 50 billion rupees (597.05 million pounds).
