Elga supply Barnsley hospital

24th June 2008

Elga Process Water is supplying HTM2030 compliant water to Barnsley Hospital.

The firm has installed one of its Process Water Biopure 600 in a department which handles 50 endoscopes daily in two Labcaire Guardian automatic re-processors but is set to increase capacity by half.

Paul Howcroft, estate manager, said the new system was much simpler to maintain and seems like good value.

"We believe that using only a single water system eliminates possible sources of infection," he added.

The product has a high-efficiency reverse osmosis membrane to remove a range of contaminants and an integral treated-water reservoir with a bacterial vent filter to maintain integrity.

Last month, the firm launched a new water treatment plant rental service after a number of customers requested the option.

The organisation is part of Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies, a subsidiary of Veolia Water, which claims to be one of the world’s major designers of technological solutions and constructor of facilities for water treatment.
