Elsevier launches educational mobile application for nurses

25th November 2010

Elsevier has announced the release of a new mobile application designed to assist nursing students in their training.

The HESI QuizMe app has been launched in the Apple App Store for purchase on iPhone and iPod touch, providing a test and assessment experience including a library of multiple choice questions and statistics to highlight quiz performance.

It focuses on the key maternity, medical-surgical, paediatric and psychiatric aspects of nursing practice and helps to familiarise users with common case studies and clinically-based scenarios.

Dr Ainslie Nibert, vice-president for HESI Review and Testing, said the application takes advantage of the potential offered by mobile technology as an "effective new training channel".

"Every time a user engages with the HESI QuizMe series … it's an opportunity to get better acquainted with the core nursing concepts that will carry these students through their careers," added Dr Nibert.

HESI products have been distributed by Elsevier since it acquired the company in January 2006.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800256091-ADNFCR
