Elsevier takes over publishing for Value in Health journal

6th January 2011

Elsevier is taking over publishing duties for Value in Health, the official medical journal of the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR).

The publication, which is issued eight times a year, is designed to provide material that supports the not-for-profit ISPOR's aim of promoting more efficient use of healthcare resources.

It is a multidisciplinary peer-reviewed journal that features content on research evaluations of new medical technologies, including innovations in pharmaceuticals, biologics, medical devices, surgical procedures and other intervention methods.

Among the other topics it covers are discussions of the cost-effectiveness of treatments, patient outcomes and reviews of existing literature.

Elsevier said: "The journal provides a scientific forum for communicating clinical, economic and patient-reported outcomes, research methods and findings, furthering ISPOR's mission that 'society allocates scarce healthcare resources wisely, fairly and efficiently'."

Last month, Elsevier appointed Professor DeLiang Wang as the new co-editor-in-chief of its neurology-focused medical journal Neural Networks.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800326349-ADNFCR
