Elsevier travel medicine journal adopted by RCPSG

21st April 2010

Elsevier’s Travel Medicine and Infectious Disease medical publication has been adopted as the official journal of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow’s (RCPSG’s) Faculty of Travel Medicine.

The Scottish organisation, which was established in 2006, is a recognised authority in the field and currently has a membership of more than 200 professionals.

Elsevier has hailed the RCPSG’s decision to select its journal as a move which will enable it to “share research and recent developments regionally and nationally”.

Dr Jane Zuckerman, editor-in-chief of the magazine, added: “The journal Travel Medicine and Infectious Disease embodies many of the goals that the Faculty of Travel Medicine has.”

The bi-monthly journal has been published since 2003 and offers peer-reviewed papers on subjects such as travel-related infectious disease, vaccine-preventable disease and aviation medicine.

Earlier this month, Elsevier launched its new Clinical Practice Model Resource Center, an online resource which allows healthcare professionals to access advice on clinical practice and planning.
