Facebook hires consumer comms manager from HTC

Social media giant Facebook has appointed Stuart Lerman as its new European consumer communications manager.

Mr Lerman has commenced his new role with immediate effect and has joined the company from mobile phone manufacturer HTC, where he has served as global consumer PR manager since 2013.

He originally joined HTC in 2012 in the position of consumer PR manager for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region. Prior to this, he worked as an account director at Cubaka and Lansons Communications, reports PRWeek.

Facebook remains the world's most popular social network and is keen to continue to expand its global presence with various PR initiatives, including the nine-figure comms alliance formed with consumer brand Reckitt Benckiser earlier this year.

Mr Lerman's appointment follows the reinstatement of Ashley Zandy to its corporate communications team in London in August this year. She rejoined the company after spending almost a year as associate director of international corporate affairs for Alibaba Group.
