Facebook re-hires corporate comms expert

Social media giant Facebook has reappointed Ashley Zandy to its corporate communications team in London.

Ms Zandy rejoins the company after less than a year with the Chinese e-commerce company Alibaba Group. The exact nature of her new role is yet to be confirmed by Facebook or by Ms Zandy herself, reports PRWeek.

During her first spell with Facebook, she served as corporate communications manager, overseeing the corporate media relations team and supporting the finance, corporate development and legal departments for around two years.

She joined Alibaba in October 2013 as associate director of international corporate affairs, taking responsibility for the company's corporate and financial communications outside mainland China.

Additionally, Ms Zandy has five years of experience working with Brunswick Group, while she also previously served as part of the investor relations team at Brainerd Communicators.

This comes in the same week that Facebook announced a major nine-figure comms alliance with consumer brand Reckitt Benckiser.
