Fisher and Paykel reports record-breaking results in first half

22nd November 2012

Fisher and Paykel has experienced a strong performance in the six months ending September 30th 2012, which represents the first half of its current financial year.

During the half-year period, the company achieved a net profit total of NZ$33.3 million (17.01 million pounds), up by 18 percent year over year, while operating revenues rose six percent to a record NZ$266.9 million.

The company's obstructive sleep apnoea and respiratory and acute care product groups both delivered improved performances compared to 2011, while growth in revenue from new applications beyond invasive ventilation was highlighted as encouraging.

Meanwhile, the firm also saw a good market response to its newly introduced Pilairo nasal pillows and Eson nasal masks, and its Icon flow generator range continued to perform well.

Fisher and Paykel Healthcare chief executive officer Michael Daniell said: "We expect constant currency revenue growth to increase further in the second half, as new products and applications continue to gain traction."

This comes after the firm recently announced the appointment of Donal O'Dwyer as a non-executive director, a role he will assume at the beginning of December 2012.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801493035-ADNFCR
