FleishmanHillard wins global brief with Huawei for Honor smartphones

6th November 2017

FleishmanHillard has won a new contract with the Chinese technology giant Huawei to promote the Honor smartphone brand.

According to the Holmes Report, the agency has been handed the six-figure assignment following a competitive review, with the brief to involve project-based HQ support for Huawei's global work of out Shenzhen.

This expands FleishmanHillard's existing relationship with Huawei, with a number of the client's other roster PR agencies all having pitched for this assignment, which was previously handled by Burson-Marsteller.

FleishmanHillard's win is not expected to affect the work that Burson-Marsteller does with Huawei, while Racepoint Global will continue to lead the company's comms efforts in the US, having won a brief to do so earlier this year.

Huawei is looking to further bolster the global profile of the Honor brand, which accounts for 40 percent of its total sales and has helped the firm to rise to second spot among global smartphone makers, overtaking Apple.
