Forest Laboratories appoints chief legal officer and general counsel
Forest Laboratories has announced the appointment of Robert Bailey as its new senior vice-president, chief legal officer and general counsel, a role that places him in charge of legal affairs at the company.
He will also serve as the firm's corporate secretary and becomes part of the Forest executive team, succeeding Herschel Weinstein, who acted as an external legal counsel to Forest for many years before taking on the general counsel role in 2006.
Mr Bailey most recently served from 2007 to 2013 as executive vice-president for law, policy and communications at Bausch and Lomb.
His appointment comes after Brent Saunders – the former boss of Bausch and Lomb – took over as chief executive officer and president of Forest Laboratories last month, following the retirement of long-serving business leader Howard Solomon.
Mr Saunders said: "Bob is a good business leader and executive with a track record as an outstanding business partner, an excellent advisor to management and the board of directors and a strong legal team leader."
