Forest Laboratories’ president and chief operating officer to retire

11th November 2010

Forest Laboratories has announced the imminent retirement of its president and chief operating officer Dr Lawrence Olanoff.

Dr Olanoff, who served as president of Forest Research Institute prior to assuming his current role, will step down on December 31st 2010 in order to pursue academic ambitions and spend time with his family.

He will continue to serve Forest as a director of the corporation and will also become a senior scientific advisor, a role which will see him continue to help in overseeing future drug development activities.

Howard Solomon, chairman and chief executive officer of Forest – who will also assume the position of president – praised Dr Olanoff for his work in creating the Forest Research Institute, which has played a key role in underpinning the firm's current pipeline successes.

"It is important that he will continue his involvement in our scientific activities and business development evaluations, as well as his board membership," he added.

Last month, the company published its financial results for the most recent fiscal quarter, reporting a 7.7 percent year-on-year sales increase.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800229825-ADNFCR
