Fort Dodge Animal Health elects new president

Richard R DeLuca has been elected to the role of president of Fort Dodge Animal Health, a division of pharmaceutical firm Wyeth, a position he will take on from January 1st 2008.

He is currently chief operating officer with the company, having worked for it since 1988.

Bernard Poussot, president and chief operating officer of Wyeth, said Mr DeLuca is an “accomplished leader” who has helped drive the growth of the animal health side of the firm.

“He brings a strong mix of leadership, operational experience and business knowledge to this position,” he continued.

Mr DeLuca will take the role from retiring president E Thomas Corcoran, who has occupied the role for 23 years.

Mr Corcoran was recently awarded the 2007 Animal Pharm Lifetime Achievement Award and the 2007 Leadership Award from Banfield, the Pet Hospital. Both these awards were in recognition of his significant contributions to the industry.
