Fresenius hails ‘outstanding’ 2010 financial performance

24th February 2011

Fresenius has published its financial report for 2010, a year which saw the medical company deliver record-breaking annual results.

The firm's sales total for the 12 months came to 16 billion euros (13.63 billion pounds), up by eight percent on a constant currency basis, while earnings and income saw double-digit year-on-year increases.

All of the company's financial targets for 2010 were either met or exceeded, with growth noted across the Fresenius Medical Care, Fresenius Kabi, Fresenius Helios and Fresenius Vamed business units.

The company is predicting a continuation of this positive performance in 2011 and has forecast sales growth of up to seven percent over the year.

Ulf Mark Schneider, chief executive officer of Fresenius, described the results as "outstanding" and noted that "global demand for high-quality and innovative healthcare products and services continues to increase".

Last month, the company announced that it will be expanding its operations with the acquisition of International Dialysis Centers, the dialysis service business of Euromedic International.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800425845-ADNFCR
