Fresenius increases revenue in 2009
Fresenius has forecast improved business in the coming year after reporting full year financial results for 2009 which were in line with the top end of its expectations.
The dialysis products and services firm’s net revenue for the full year stood at $11.2 billion (7.3 billion), an increase of six per cent when compared to its 2008 performance.
This increase was mirrored by a six per cent rise in the number of patients treated by Fresenius Medical Care during 2009, with 29.4 million dialysis treatments delivered worldwide.
Ben Lipps, chief executive officer of Fresenius Medical Care, expressed satisfaction with the company’s performance, praising the strength of its cash flow.
He added: “In 2010, we expect to face similar challenges as we did in 2009 but we continue with confidence to execute our strategic plan while maintaining vigilance as to local healthcare trends.”
Last month, the company highlighted the role it has played in offering aid to victims of the Haiti earthquakes, estimating that its relief has helped more than 185,000 people to date.
