Fujifilm Medical Systems UK wins service solution contract

Fujifilm Medical Systems UK has earned a new service solution contract worth around 20 million pounds.

The company has been awarded the All Wales Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) Managed Service Solution deal over a seven-year period from 2012 to 2019.

As a result of the agreement, the Velindre Trust and Welsh Local Health Boards will be able to enjoy a common PACS service featuring a centralised Vendor Neutral Archive and remote backup.

These systems should all be introduced in the next few years, with the contract ensuring the whole of Wales benefits from a PACS setup that is both efficient and cost-effective.

Mark van Rossum, general manager of Fujifilm Medical Systems UK, noted: "The contract is progressing smoothly, on time and within agreed quality standards."

The new Synapse PACS system is to provide a fully-integrated web-based solution that enables users to mange images in an open environment, meaning they can be stored, distributed and retrieved.
