GE Healthcare announces takeover of Finnamore
GE Healthcare has agreed a deal to acquire Finnamore, one of the most prominent health and social care consultancies in the UK.
The deal, financial terms of which were undisclosed, will combine Finnamore's award-winning expertise and relationships together with GE Healthcare's existing consultancy expertise and UK client base.
Following the purchase, GE Healthcare's consultancy arm Performance Solutions UK has been renamed GE Healthcare Finnamore, expanding its employee base to 70, many of whom are former clinicians, engineers and management consultants.
The new firm will be led by John Deverill, the former managing director of Finnamore, who will lead the unit in partnering with British health and care providers to improve operational efficiency, clinical outcomes and patient experience.
Karl Blight, GE Healthcare's general manager in the UK said: "GE Healthcare is investing in advisory capabilities as part of the company’s objective to become a true strategic partner to our customers."
This comes after the firm expanded its position in the life sciences market by purchasing several strategic assets from Thermo Fisher Scientific earlier this month.
