GE Healthcare completes acquisition of API Healthcare

21st February 2014

GE Healthcare has confirmed the completion of its previously-announced takeover of the US-based business API Healthcare.

The healthcare workforce management solutions provider has been acquired as a means of expanding GE Healthcare's current hospital operations management portfolio, which offers real-time access to operational data.

Founded in 1982, API Healthcare has been rated in the top 20 Best in KLAS Awards report as the top time and attendance provider system for ten years between 2003 and 2012, as well as the top staffing and scheduling solution for 2012.

This purchase also aligns well with GE's industrial internet strategy.

Mike Swinford, president and chief executive officer of GE Healthcare Services, said: "With this acquisition, we are now able to address a significant portion of hospital operating costs … with a mix of software, real-time data, powerful analytics and professional services."

This deal was announced last month, shortly after GE Healthcare also confirmed the acquisition of Finnamore, one of the most prominent health and social care consultancies in the UK.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801696257-ADNFCR
