GE Healthcare highlights popularity of GSI CT application

14th June 2011

GE Healthcare has highlighted the growing uptake of its Gemstone Spectral Imaging (GSI) Computed Tomography (CT) application since its launch.

In a presentation at the International Symposium on Multidetector Row CT, the company noted that the visualisation technology has been used to aid "thousands" of patients to date.

The GSI CT system is designed to address the key issues of material separation and artefact reduction in clinical imaging, making it easier to characterise lesion attributes and location within a single examination.

GE Healthcare is currently introducing a second release of the GSI technology, which includes refinements in image quality and usability.

Steve Gray, vice-president and general manager of CT and Advantage Workstation for GE Healthcare, said: "By helping clinicians increase their diagnostic confidence and accuracy through GSI, we're helping them better serve their patients' needs."

Last month, the company announced the launch of the Innova 2100-IQ Optima Edition, a new interventional cardiology system designed as a low-cost option.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800578287-ADNFCR
