GE Healthcare names new European president and CEO

GE Healthcare has announced the appointment of Catherine Estrampes as president and chief executive officer (CEO) of GE Healthcare Europe, effective as of October 1st 2017.

Ms Estrampes has been with GE Healthcare since 1988 and has held business and marketing leadership positions for the cardiology/interventional and computed tomography product lines.

From 2013, she served as general manager for the US and Canada central zone, with responsibilities spanning the GE Healthcare portfolio, before she returned to the European business earlier this year as imaging leader.

She has been appointed as the successor to Jean-Michel Malbrancq, who is leaving GE after 35 successful years with the company.

This new promotion follows the recent appointments of Kieran Murphy as president and CEO of GE Healthcare and Emmanuel Ligner as the head of GE Healthcare Life Sciences.

Mr Murphy said Ms Estrampes' "vision and leadership skills will be key assets as we continue to grow our business in the region, providing the best solutions and services to help improve outcomes for Europe’s healthcare systems and patients".
