GE Healthcare names new healthcare IT CEO

5th April 2011

GE Healthcare has appointed Jan De Witte as the new president and chief executive officer (CEO) of its healthcare IT business division.

Mr De Witte is succeeding Vishal Wanchoo, who has moved to a different position within the company, and will be taking on the role in addition to his current responsibilities as president and CEO of its performance solutions unit.

This appointment places him in charge of a key technology driver for the group, which delivers IT solutions across the integrated healthcare delivery network.

He has been with the company since 1999 and has served in a variety of strategic technology and business leadership roles, taking charge of performance solutions last June.

John Dineen, president and CEO of GE Healthcare, said: "Having a single leader like Jan De Witte lead both businesses sends a visible signal to our customers that GE Healthcare is dedicated to growing its IT and solutions offerings."

Last week, the firm announced the launch of a groundbreaking new compact MRI scanning device that allows physicians to examine specific parts of the anatomy.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800487813-ADNFCR
