GE Healthcare software division to operate as standalone business
GE Healthcare has announced that its revenue cycle, ambulatory care and workforce management software unit will become a standalone business.
Veritas Capital, a leading private equity investment firm, has agreed to pay $1.05 billion (GBP 749.06 million) to take ownership of GE Healthcare's enterprise financial management, ambulatory care management and workforce management assets, which make up its value-based care division.
The new owner has invested heavily in the healthcare technology space, and has a robust track record of strategically transforming businesses in this field by working closely with management teams to enhance customer benefits, improve efficiency and develop new products and services.
By operating as a standalone business, the GE Healthcare value-based care unit is seeking to revitalise its product portfolio and pursue complementary acquisitions to drive further growth.
Jon Zimmerman, vice-president and general manager of value-based care solutions at GE Healthcare, said: "With Veritas' support and resources, we are excited to continue deepening our commitment and capabilities to help healthcare providers manage their financial, clinical and employee workflows across the continuum of care."
