GE Healthcare’s New Revolution CT System wins praise from US hospital
GE Healthcare has earned praise for its New Revolution CT System, which has just been purchased by West Kendall Baptist Hospital in Miami.
The hospital has announced the purchase and installation of the highly advanced computed tomography (CT) scanner following a six-month evaluation at the hospital, during which the system exceeded its expectations.
Its combination of whole-organ coverage, high image quality and speed allows doctors to diagnose even the most challenging patients, including those with erratic or high heartbeats and paediatric patients.
Using this system, it is possible to scan entire organs such as the brain, heart, liver and pancreas in a single 0.28-second rotation, reducing breath-hold times for patients.
Eric Stahre, president and chief executive officer of GE Healthcare MICT, said: "This will be the first CT scanner that's right for physicians in every clinical specialty and provides answers from one CT exam."
This comes after the firm received EU approval of its new product Vizamyl, a radiopharmaceutical agent for use in medical imaging applications.
