Genus Breeding appoints new national grassland manager

28th October 2008

Genus Breeding has announced the appointment of its new UK national grassland manager.

The company has named Gareth Davies as the new holder of the position.

Mr Davies is a former producer retailer and has experience in several areas in the agricultural sector. He said he is “excited” by his new appointment.

He described Genus as “the one genetics company within the UK that is committing sufficient resources” to the grasslands sector of their business, which has allowed the formation of a specialist grassland genetics team to service the pasture-based dairy area.

Mr Davies added Genus’ successful stud of bulls throughout the UK and Ireland makes for “exciting times ahead”.

Genus stated it has been developing its presence in this sector over the past three years, since the launch of the Grassland Breeding Programme in 2005.

People in animal health jobs may also be interested in Genus Breeding’s range of products, which include forage enhancers such as Powerstart and Live System.
