Gold medal award for new Veraview X800 CT scanner

Morita UK has won a gold medal award for its Veraview X800 CT scanner at this year's IF Design Awards.

Hailed as the next generation in cone beam CT scanners, Dentistry.co.uk reports the product provides the greatest possible detail to dentistry professionals when carrying out patient scans.

It offers high-resolution images of 2.5 LP/mm at ten percent MTF with a voxel size of 80 µm, ensuring exceptional image quality to minimise artefacts and distortion. It also offers panoramic scan functions and a 180-degree mode, to reduce radiation exposure times.

Robert Pounds, managing director of The Dental Imaging Company, stated: "With up to 11 selectable scan volumes and the option of adapting the radiation dosage to the individual patient, the scanner offers optimum image resolution at the lowest possible dose."

He added that the Veraview X800 is now in a "class of its own" in terms of offering "excellent image quality to provide diagnostic clarity".
