Golin appoints new director to lead consumer health business

Golin has announced the appointment of the experienced comms professional Shani Shaker as the new leader of its consumer health portfolio.

Ms Shaker joins Golin as a director, having previously worked for agencies such as Porter Novelli and Edelman, delivering services for clients including Nestle, Unilever, Seven Seas and Procter and Gamble.

Her work will complement the development of the agency's ethical health portfolio and the overall expansion of the healthcare practice, which works with brands such as NiQuitin, Bronchostop, ellaOne and Yokebe.

The London healthcare practice was launched in 2013 following the acquisition of Virgo Health and has seen considerable growth since then.

Sian Boisseau, leader of Golin's healthcare practice, said: "We have such ambitious plans and great momentum for health in 2017, so Shani's credentials and passion for consumer healthcare are the perfect match."

The agency has also welcomed former Ruder Finn healthcare head Jacqui Sanders, a graduate of the Back2Businessship returnship course, for a two-week work placement that will reacquaint her with healthcare comms in preparation for her next role.
