Grifols implements final stage of plasma derivatives transparency

10th October 2008

Grifols has announced the final stage of its implementation of its PediGri On Line system to extend the transparency of information to all its plasma derivatives.

Products now covered by the system include Albutein, Alphanate, AlphaNine and Profilnine SD.

The company has also announced the official launch of PediGri On Line in the US.

Grifols said its commitment to transparency of information via this system goes back to January 1996 and is in keeping with its track record of offering novel products and services to professionals in the healthcare sector.

“Grifols’ PediGri has been available for more than a decade to healthcare professionals from several countries who registered for this service,” the company added.

It explained the system offers full traceability to users from the donation of plasma to the receipt of the final product.

Healthcare professionals can enter the lot number found on every product vial, ampoule or syringe and look up specific information about every plasma donation used on the production of that sample, including the complete certificate of analysis and package insert.

In August 2008, Grifols announced its financial results for the first half of 2008, reporting a 36.8 per cent rise 62.2 million euros (50.1 million pounds).
