Grifols sets up transfusion medicine advisory council

5th April 2011

Grifols has announced the establishment of a new expert advisory council that will help to guide its activities in the field of transfusion medicine.

The body will utilise the expertise of various physicians and researchers from different countries and will advise the company on its research and development activities in this area.

John Moulds, director of scientific support services at LifeShare Blood Centers in Louisiana, will act as the council's chair, with a total of nine experts from around the world set to be recruited.

It is hoped that the internationally renowned expertise of the council members and their diverse regional backgrounds will help to stimulate creative approaches to various challenges.

Dr Eva Bastida, scientific director of Grifols, said: "Bringing together these leaders in transfusion medicine underscores our longstanding commitment to being a world leader in blood diagnostics and transfusion medicine."

Earlier this year, Grifols agreed a US distribution alliance with fellow healthcare company Novartis in the diagnostic products market.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800487363-ADNFCR
