Health charity Sue Ryder appoints new PR head

National charity organisation Sue Ryder has announced the appointment of Susan Fiddian as its new head of PR, celebrity and comms activity.

Ms Fiddian, who previously led PR activity for the Royal National Institute of Blind People, will join Sue Ryder in September 2014 and will be responsible for raising its profile and strengthening its reputation as a provider of hospice and neurological care, reports Gorkana.

She is able to boast 15 years of comms experience, having also previously acted as consumer head of comms for the Canal and River Trust, deputy head of media at Action for Hearing Loss, and head of press and PR at Variety Club.

Ms Fiddian will now take the lead on the organisation's health awareness and engagement campaigns.

Sally Smith, director of people and comms at Sue Ryder, said: "She will be instrumental in helping raise awareness of Sue Ryder to achieve our vision to create a society where everyone has access to personalised and compassionate care."
