Healthcare Communications Association names new chief executive

31st July 2017

The Healthcare Communications Association (HCA) has announced the appointment of Mike Dixon as its new chief executive officer.

Mr Dixon will bring more than 28 years of healthcare communications expertise to the role, having worked in numerous in-house positions, as well as leading and owning various specialist agencies.

His UK and global multichannel experience encompasses knowledge of the pharma, medical devices, consumer and NHS communications markets, meaning he is well positioned to direct the HCA's day-to-day business and support its cross-industry membership.

Mr Dixon has been appointed as the successor in this role to Anneliese Cameron, who was praised for her significant contributions in leading the HCA for the past two-and-a-half years.

Aileen Thompson, executive director of communications at the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry and a member of the HCA executive committee said: "We are really pleased that Mike has decided to lead the HCA at this critical time for our industry. We have no doubt that he will do an excellent job navigating us through this increasingly challenging environment."
