Heinz recruits new chief supply chain officer

4th February 2010

Heinz this week revealed the appointment of a new chief supply chain officer – Bob Ostryniec.

The professional will be responsible for driving worldwide initiatives and leveraging the group’s global scale, while reducing costs, enhancing gross margins and improving its productivity.

He first joined Heinz in July 2003 as the organisation’s group vice-president of supply chain and was promoted to chief supply chain officer in May 2005.

Mr Ostryniec’s previous roles include various manufacturing, purchasing and supply chain positions within General Electric and Stanley Tools.

William Johnson, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Heinz, said: “Bob’s appointment reflects his exceptional performance in optimising savings and efficiency in the company’s […] supply chain, while building best-in-class supply chain processes.”

This news comes after Heinz Foodservice’s head of marketing Chris Cannon told the Publican last month that the company’s presence in the UK is “inherently important” to British consumers.
