Henry Schein appoints new European medical head

14th November 2012

Henry Schein has announced the appointment of Jurgen Hahn as president of its European medical group, a role based in Berlin.

Mr Hahn brings more than 20 years of industry expertise to his new role, having previously worked with companies such as Novartis, Fresenius and Hitachi Medical Systems.

He will take responsibility for the firm's full-service and mail-order businesses, leading a European team comprising more than 4,000 members of staff serving around 75,000 physician customers.

It is hoped that the appointment will help the European medical group to emulate the market-leading status that Henry Schein's dental and animal health divisions currently enjoy.

Stanley Bergman, chairman and chief executive officer for Henry Schein, said: "Jurgen's proven track record of growing successful medical businesses and his extensive international experience will be invaluable in this important position."

Last week, the company reported its financial results for the third quarter of 2012, during which it generated record sales of $2.2 billion (1.39 billion pounds).ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801488157-ADNFCR
