Henry Schein celebrates 20th anniversary of Sullivan Dental merger

Henry Schein has marked the 20th anniversary of its 1997 merger with Sullivan Dental with a commemorative event at the latter's headquarters in West Allis, Wisconsin.

The company has credited the Sullivan Dental deal as playing a significant role in the growth of its US operations, a feat achieved through a continued focus on practice care, job creation and strong leadership.

At the time of the Sullivan Dental deal, Henry Schein had 3,200 employees and US dental sales of $819 million (648.1 million pounds), but since then, these figures have grown to more than 21,000 current staff members and 2016 US dental sales of more than $3.2 billion.

Stanley Bergman, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Henry Schein, said: "The outcome of this customer-centric focus has allowed us to gain market share, grow our Team Schein members and increase shareholder value – a great example of the power of collaboration."

This comes after the firm marked the 20th anniversary of its merger with Dentrix Dental Systems last month, another transaction that has delivered considerable growth for Henry Schein over the last two decades.
