Henry Schein establishes Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Fund

22nd March 2011

Henry Schein has set up a new matching donations fund that will be used to support relief efforts in earthquake-stricken Japan.

The dental supplies manufacturer's Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Fund provides a method for company employees to make financial contributions to the Asian nation, with all donations set to be matched by Henry Schein.

In addition to this, the firm's global social responsibility programme Henry Schein Cares is allying with international relief organisations to ensure they have access to enough healthcare products to meet demand.

This comes after the firm also recently helped to support relief efforts in nations such as New Zealand, Australia, Haiti and Chile following natural disasters in the last 12 months.

Stanley Bergman, Henry Schein's chairman and chief executive officer, said: "Henry Schein Cares is working closely with our partner non-governmental organisations to seek opportunities to support humanitarian relief efforts. As always, we stand ready to do our part."

Last month, the firm published its fiscal report for the fourth quarter of 2010, during which it experienced its best ever three-month net sales total.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800471564-ADNFCR
