Henry Schein launches Holiday Cheer for Children scheme
Henry Schein has announced the launch of its 18th annual Holiday Cheer for Children programme, part of its Henry Schein Cares social responsibility scheme.
Staff members from 20 company locations in the US, Canada, UK, Spain and Germany will participate in the programme, which will see participating children and their families are given toys, clothing, games and other gifts purchased by Henry Schein workers.
Volunteers will spend their own time and money to sponsor individual children, with families also receiving gift certificates to major supermarket chains. Local social service organisations will work with the firm to help raise funds for local charities and people in need.
The Henry Schein Cares Foundation is dedicated to working to foster, support and promote dental, medical and animal health by helping to increase access to care for communities around the world.
Gerry Benjamin, Henry Schein's executive vice-president and chief administrative officer, said: "With every passing year, Team Schein's enthusiasm and generosity only grows, and seeing so many smiling faces is its own special gift. Holiday Cheer for Children exemplifies the spirit of Team Schein and embodies the company's commitment to giving back."
This comes after the firm achieved a perfect score in the 2017 Corporate Equality Index compiled by the US Human Rights Campaign Foundation for its commitment to LGBT workplace equality.
